Heritage Brick

Here's another of Vic West's beautiful Heritage homes, built in 1890. The cost of construction was reported in 1891 as $2,400. Times have changed! Most of Victoria's older homes are wood construction - hardly surprising since this province has always had plenty of timber.

I like it! And I esp. like their yard decoration. I bet it was pretty lit up at night.

I periodically travel to western Ontario. It's interesting to contrast the construction of old homes there to here. Over there the old majestic homes are all brick, often with verandas.
