Terrace Avenue

This is one of my favorite little streets in Victoria. It runs between Oak Bay Avenue and Rockland Avenue. It's very narrow and has many twists and turns between huge oak trees and beautiful old homes, making it easy to forget you're 5 minutes from downtown Victoria. - Fern

Ah, know it well. I lived on the cul-de-sac off the middle of Terrace for eight years. The flat winding part here connects to Rockland and the other end is a steep drop down to Oak Bay ave.

Rockland neighbourhood got its name from all the homes that built stone fences similar to Craigdarroch Castle property, which originally covered a much larger area.

Oh this is up near Craigdarroch? I'm curious as to what is on the sign, I can't tell what it is. Is it supposed to be a speedbump?

Yes to both your questions JoJo, it is near Craigdarroch Castle and it is a sign warning of a speedbump.

You're lucky to have lived in that area Dean, it must have been very nice. I want to live in the one on the corner there, that used to be the Premier's house.

I plan to do more exploring in that neighborhood as there are so many hidden gems, many of them designed by McClure.

Fern, get down to the Royal BC Museum soon. Something interesting waiting for you outside the main doors. You'll like it... ;)
